Laughter! and Inspiration

Laughter can help mend the broken heart and wounded soul or just make your day seem brighter. Recent research by secular scientist have shown laughter and prayer to be a significant working force in recovery from illness, operations and trauma, what Christians have know for thousands of years. Laughter and prayer puts things in a better light (actually encouraging the release of endorphins and serotonin-our bodies natural feel good chemicals), to have a more positive attitude and to see the possibilities. Go ahead, LAUGH!

Smile

She smiled at a sorrowful stranger.

The smile seemed to make him feel better.
He remembered past kindnesses of a friend and wrote him a thank-you letter.
The friend was so pleased with the thank-you that he left a large tip after lunch.
The waitress, surprised by the size of the tip, bet the whole thing on a hunch.
The next day she picked up her winnings, and gave part to a man on the street.
The man on the street was grateful; for two days he’d had nothing to eat.
After he finished his dinner, he left for his small dingy room.
(He didn’t know at that moment that he might be facing his doom.)
On the way he picked up a shivering puppy and took him home to get warm.
The puppy was very grateful to be in out of the storm.
That night the house caught on fire.
 The puppy barked the alarm.
He barked ‘til he woke the whole household and saved everybody from harm.
One of the boys that he rescued grew up to be President.
All this because of a simple smile that hadn’t cost a cent.

What I've learned:

...that you cannot make someone love you. All you can do is be someone who can be loved. The rest is up to them.
...that no matter how much I care, some people just don't care back.

...that it takes years to build up trust, and only seconds to destroy it.

...that it's not what you have in your life but who you have in your life that counts.

...that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

...that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

...that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

HOW CAN YOU LIVE WITHOUT KNOWING THESE THINGS?

Why we are so tired!

For a couple of years I've been blaming it on lack of sleep, too much pressure from my job, earwax buildup, poor blood, but now I found out the real reason we're overworked. Here's why:

The population of this country is 273 million. 140 million are retired. That leaves 133 million to do the work.

There are 85 million in school, Which leaves 48 million to do the work.

Of this there are 29 million employed by the federal government, Leaving 19 million to the work.

2.8 million are in the armed forces preoccupied with killing the Taliban. Which leaves 16.2 million to do the work.

Take from the total, the 14,800,000 people who work for the state and city governments. And that leaves 1.4 million to do the work.

At any given times there are 188,000 people in the hospitals, Leaving 1,212,000 to do the work.

Now, there are 1,211,998 people in prisons, That leaves just two people to do the work You and me. ....and there you are
sitting there reading these jokes!
